She is best known for her portrayal of Willie Scott, an American nightclub performer and singer in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984), directed by eventual husband Steven Spielberg. She was in Dreamscape (1984), Power(1986), SpaceCamp(1986), Black Rain (1989), Love Affair (94), Just Cause (1995) and The Love Letter (1999). Capshaw is a portrait artist who has been displayed at the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery Capshaw was born Kathleen Sue Nail in Fort Worth Texas. She is the daughter of Beverley Sue Simon (nee Simon), beauty therapist and travel agent and Edwin Leon Nail, an employee of the airline. At the age of five, she was years old when she moved to St. Louis, Missouri. She graduated from Hazelwood Senior High School. Capshaw graduated with a degree from education from the University of Missouri, where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi. She was a teacher of special education at Southern Boone High School, Ashland, Missouri, as also Rock Bridge High School, Columbia, Missouri.
