Salma Hayek

Salma Hayek is a Mexican-American actor, born to a Spanish-Lebanese parents. She was born into a wealthy Roman Catholic family from Mexico. At the age of a young girl her dream was to act after watching the movie "Willy Woonka & The Chocolate Factory.' After attending Mexico City's "Universidad Iberoamericana," she was ready to join the industry of film. It was her first performance in the Mexican television show "Teresa." In Hollywood she was cast as Antonio Banderas's co-star for 'Desperado. Later, she was cast in "Fools Rush In" and "Wild Wild West" and "Wild Wild West" among others. In the film 'Once Upon A Time in Mexico,' she reprised the role of "Desperado.' She later founded her own production house called Ventanarosa. The film that she first produced was the Mexican film, 'El Coronel Dos Tienes Quien Escriba in which she is Mexico's entry into the Oscars in the 'Best Foreign Film' category. She was also the executive producer of 'Ugly Betty.' Her nomination was for Outstanding Guest actress (Comedy Series) during the 59th Primetime Emmy Awards. In addition, she has been an endorser for products like 'Revlon' as well as 'Avon' and has launched her own collection of makeup, skincare as well as hair care products called 'Nuance.'
